Get informed

The chain of school perseverance awareness has started. Who will you tell about school perseverance?

Many chains of encouragement will be launched during HSD. Their goal is to give a boost of positive energy to thousands of youth and adults, and to urge participants to encourage others.

One of the outcomes of this movement is a “chain of school perseverance awareness,” which encourages people who have been told about the movement during HSD to in turn inform someone else, and so on, in order to continue the chain.

After telling someone about the issue of school perseverance, the participant gives them two green-and-white ribbons. By accepting the ribbon, the newly informed person agrees to wear one and give the other to someone else whom they have in turn informed about the issue, and so on. In this way, the ribbon becomes a symbol of awareness.

To publicize the importance of the issue and of being part of the chain of awareness, participants are asked to:

  • Publish a photo of themselves giving the ribbon on their Facebook and Twitter accounts,
  • Add a short text (e.g., I’m part of the #SchoolPerseverance chain of awareness and I challenge @___________ to take part too.)
  • Use the hashtag #HSD2015

  • Make it yourself!
