Montreal stakeholders organized a host of activities for Hooked on School Days 2021 to celebrate the perseverance of young people at school across the Island of Montreal.
While it would be impossible to list all these activities, you can read about several of them below.
Impact of the pandemic on Québec and Canadian students’ career choices
The organization Academos surveyed 4,200 Québec students aged 14 to 30 to better understand how the pandemic has affected their academic and professional orientation. Among the questions answered in the report:

John Caboto Academy teachers encouraging their students
Teachers at John Caboto Academy made a video to encourage and support students through this particularly difficult time and help them finish the year strong.
On Joue ensemble (13th edition)
Due to health restrictions, the Centre de services scolaire de la Pointe-de-l'Île and CÉGEP Marie-Victorin adapted the 13th edition of the On joue ensemble event to take a look back at the previous 12 editions. The video revisits the best moments created by students from Anjou, Antoine de St-Exupéry, Calixa-Lavallée, Daniel-Johnson, Pointe-aux-Trembles, Henri-Bourassa and Jean-Grou high schools; along with Adélard-Desrosiers and Félix-Leclerc elementary schools, who performed on the stage of CÉGEP Marie-Victorin. The retrospective includes remembrances by students and messages of encouragement from musicians of the Orchestre Métropolitain.

Selection of books about perseverance
For Hokked on School Days, Bibliothèques de Montréal created a list of books available for digital loan that celebrate perseverance.

Video for young people from Espace Jeunes librarians
Librarians at the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec sent out a message of encouragement to young people (in French).
Stories about perseverance, a panel for young people
On February 15, the organization Pour 3 Points organized a Facebook Live event at which sprinter Kim Hyacinthe, multi-sport athlete Woody Belfort, and DJ and cultural organizer Gayance spoke about perseverance and what motivates them to seek excellence.

In this video by the Table de concertation jeunesse Bordeaux-Cartierville, the local youth-focused community applauds all its young people and shows its support.
A message from the Alouettes
The Montreal Alouettes published a message on their website to highlight HSD and celebrate the resilience of young people during this complicated time. This mark of encouragement was accompanied by a list of resources that young people can turn to if needed.

The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal encourages young people
The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal also marked HSD with a Tweet to encourage students. The OSM also published young/old photos of musicians who persevered in practicing their instrument.

Verdun MNA Isabelle Melançon published a video message applauding students for their resilience and encouraging them to persevere.

Aspirations of students at Leonardo Da Vinci Academy
For HSD, the elementary school Leonardo Da Vinci Academy asked kindergarten students to picture themselves in the future and draw what they want to be when they grow up.
