Hooked on School Days 2021: actions, activities, and committed people

Montreal stakeholders organized a host of activities for Hooked on School Days 2021 to celebrate the perseverance of young people at school across the Island of Montreal.

While it would be impossible to list all these activities, you can read about several of them below.

Impact of the pandemic on Québec and Canadian students’ career choices

The organization Academos surveyed 4,200 Québec students aged 14 to 30 to better understand how the pandemic has affected their academic and professional orientation. Among the questions answered in the report:

  • Did young people take advantage of the pandemic to reflect more deeply on their career choices?
  • Did their perception of certain sectors, particularly those most affected by the pandemic, change?
  • Are they more anxious about entering the workforce?
  • What can parents do to better support them in the orientation process in times of crisis?

Due to health restrictions, the Centre de services scolaire de la Pointe-de-l'Île and CÉGEP Marie-Victorin adapted the 13th edition of the On joue ensemble event to take a look back at the previous 12 editions. The video revisits the best moments created by students from Anjou, Antoine de St-Exupéry, Calixa-Lavallée, Daniel-Johnson, Pointe-aux-Trembles, Henri-Bourassa and Jean-Grou high schools; along with Adélard-Desrosiers and Félix-Leclerc elementary schools, who performed on the stage of CÉGEP Marie-Victorin. The retrospective includes remembrances by students and messages of encouragement from musicians of the Orchestre Métropolitain.
