Montréal launch of Hooked on School Days: online, but still interactive and moving

The morning of February 15, 2021, 158 people gathered together, each at home, to kick off Hooked on School Days. The online gathering gave participants a chance to share, listen to each other, be moved by the accounts of Loukas (15), Sarah (15), and Laurélie (17), and get a look at items that have marked the year of our special guests:

  • Valérie Plante, Mayor of Montréal
  • Jean-François Roberge, Minister of Education
  • Danielle McCann, Minister of Higher Education
  • Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Hooked on School Days spokesperson

A stirring slam

One of the hits of the launch was without a doubt the slam performed by Amos school students Christina Dorvil-Osias and Mayar Almoufti about their experiences during the pandemic.

Safe at home, but still involved

Throughout the interactive event, participants were able to reconnect with each other, talk about various issues, and offer encouragement to young people.
